Inhoud

The Associated Studios is one of Britain’s leading performing arts schools, a registered charity that is committed to the training and continued professional development of aspiring as well as established performers in the disciplines of Acting, Musical Theatre and Opera.The Studios have the Patronage of Sir Tim Rice, Jeremy Irons, Timothy West, Rory Bremner and Jeremy Herrin.
This Foundation course focuses on developing the performers’ vocal, acting and dance skills, whilst developing as versatile, ‘triple-threat’ performers and artists, with a view to further training after the course. The course runs on Sundays from 12pm – 8pm and Mondays from 10am – 6pm. You will be on a dynamic and rigorous schedule in an intensive 4 months. This course is for performers who have the ability and potential to pursue a career in the Musical Theatre Industry. Throughout the course you will work with well-known industry practitioners including Directors, Musical Directors, Casting Directors, Writers and Performers.During the course we will focus on building a suitable audition repertoire folder in addition to honing your craft and laying the building blocks in Acting, Singing and Dance. This course is ideal for Dancers and Actors who want to break into Musical Theatre.

Please note that although performers on this course will have less experience than those on the professional development programmes, the standard of training and the coaches are exactly the same. You will be working with experienced and eminent theatre practitioners throughout.

DANCERS:

This is an ideal course for Dancers who want to work on their singing and acting and become triple threat performers. Please note that for Dance classes you will be split into two ability groups and Dancers will do the Advanced Dance classes.

Course Dates & Audition Details:

Auditioning throughout the year, this part-time course will commence February 2016 and end in June 2016.

Who should apply:
Our courses are about individual journeys and the opportunity to expand and develop your skills. Our 4 Month Foundation Musical Theatre course is designed to allow less experienced performers to continue their regular work whilst taking the opportunity to develop their skills. It is also ideal for Dancers and Actors who want to break into the Musical Theatre industry. This course is a chance to build the foundations required in order to move on to further training. We offer training at the highest levels, and focus on allowing performers to develop in accordance with their needs, whilst allowing you to build contacts with eminent theatre practitioners from all sides of the industry. Applicants must be over 18 to apply, and we welcome international applicants.

Fees and Finance

This course costs £3100.00. The deposit for the course is 25% of the full fee. The balance of the course fees may be paid in instalments. In instances of financial difficulty we sometimes allow lengthy instalment plans.

There is a £30 non-refundable application fee. This applies to all applicants and covers the cost of the panel, venue and accompanist.

Overseas Applicants

We welcome international applicants. If you are unable to attend an audition, your application should also include a DVD or demo tape of at least two contrasting songs,and one short monologue. Please send your application by email, or to the following address:
